Our Antiquing Wax is used to add a patina, creating depth and an old world look, and instant age. Its colour can be described as a dark black brown.
This fine museum quality wax is based on an old family recipe. It is made from beeswax with a little carnauba wax and is then lightly tinted to a rich black brown, perfect for creating an authentically aged finish on a piece of painted furniture. It is easy to apply, provides a durable finish with a beautiful lustre and has almost no odour.
How to use:
Antiquing Wax may be applied directly over Milk Paint or Fusion Mineral Paint. You can also apply a coat of clear Miss Mustard Seed's Furniture Wax or Beeswax (clear) before you apply Antiquing Wax. This will make the Antiquing Wax a little more "workable" and it will be easier to remove the Antiquing Wax in areas where you want less antiquing.
Use a wax brush or clean microfibre cloth to apply wax in a thin layer, working into recesses of carved details or surface imperfections. Wipe away excess. Allow it to dry for 3-5 minutes. Buff to a shine with a clean lint-free cotton cloth. This product may be applied directly over dry milk paint or clear wax.
Clean with our Odorless Solvent. Protect from freezing.
